Speech Testing in Noise and in Quiet

At Ear Specialists, we conduct a simple test that will indicate your ability to understand speech in noise. Quite often, one of the early indicators of hearing loss is difficulty understanding what someone says to you in a noisy place. During this test, you will hear several groups of three numbers spoken with a rushing noise in the background. After each group, simply enter the three numbers you heard by clicking a number pad on the screen.

You will be asked to repeat this process with a random selection of 3 numbers each time. The better you do, the quieter the speech will get – so the more difficult the test will become! Once you have completed the test, you will be given an indication of how well you understand speech in background noise and a suggestion for the next steps to take.
